♥ About Phynix

Why Am I:
I wasn't sure how to start this off, and I typed “why” instead of “who” and I figured; that's a great way to start off! Yeah sure, why am I? Good question!!! LOL
I'm very silly and ridiculous (I know my stories are kinda the opposite.)
While often shy, I am very friendly and love helping others when I can.
I have many passions, hobbies, and interests! I love cooking, I love video games, I love jewelry making, I love geology/gemstones, I do computer design and electronic design, I have a very small home lab, and of course I love to read and write!

Photos below: my gemstones, and my lab.

What I write
I'm very passionate about writing; I always have been! See the photo below, a first-place trophy I won in 8th grade. Funny enough I submitted two books ( same story told from two points of view. ) My teacher came up to me and said, “Look, I wanted to let you know you won first-place. But you also won second-place. It wouldn't be fair to others if we gave you both awards but I thought you should know.”
The trophy itself wasn't where my passion started. It was there before that, and continued long after. The trophy reminds me that other people can appreciate my work too. That it's possible.
I write fictional dystopian prophecies of futures that are sometimes preferred to our own reality. I write science fiction, often dystopian, and sometimes with horror vibes. Almost always with queer women as the main characters.
I also write nonfiction too! I will likely be publishing those as well but not for a while. They tend to often be social issues, or kinda morbid humor stuff to help cope with the current situation of the world.
I have so many stories to share with everyone, and I very much look forward to the journey and fun we'll all have together. The places we'll go, the things we'll see, the characters we'll fall in love with.

My inspirations
I get inspired by many sources. From people, from other books, from movies and shows, from my own personal life. I am a survivor of abuse, and I've lived through some rough experiences. Sometimes I write about dark things, and they grew from real events I've lived through. Sometimes someone I write about has a particular personality because I knew someone that was like that. Sometimes it's neither.
Sometimes my mind comes up with new events, places, things, and characters that are unlike anything I've ever lived through or seen before. Sometimes it's both!
I don't have any one source of inspiration, but I do have occasional sources.

My values
Are very important to me. The concept of not bringing politics into your business life is an excuse to ignore the oppression and harm that currently exists as the status quo. I would rather lose a few sales to bigots than pretend to be neutral on things. So let me make this very clear: Black lives matter, trans rights are human rights, protect trans children, Palestinian liberation, pro-choice, disability rights, being neurodivergent is not a disability but being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world is disabling, no one is illegal on stolen land, body-positive, allyship means action, eat the rich, billionaires are criminals.

Why I write
I write because I love to write. I write because I'm good at it. I write because I have stories to tell. I write because I need to survive. I write because my baby needs to survive. I write so that one day when Zuri asks mommy if they can do some amazing huge task; I can turn to them and tell them YES! Yes you can! Yes you will! I can tell my baby they can do anything at all. If their mother, with all of her struggles and issues, can build something from nothing while raising them by herself, then baby Zuri, you can do anything... and mommy will always be there to help you.
I write because of Zuri.
